
Theresa Büchner works with film, photography, and text. She studied at the HfG Offenbach, completed a BA in Photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam, 2018), an MA in Film at HAW Hamburg (2021), and graduated as Meisterschülerin of Willem de Rooij at Städelschule Frankfurt (2022).
Her short film Die entformte Tochter (2018) premiered at the Nederlands Film Festival and was nominated for the Steenbergen Stipendium. Droopy Rose (2021) premiered at Kasseler Dokfest, where it was nominated for the Golden Key. Her photographic work Erbmasse (2022) won 1st Prize at the Städelschule/Portikus graduation exhibition.
Büchner’s works have been shown internationally, including at Galerie MATTA (Milan), Kunsthalle Darmstadt, Kunstverein Wiesen, Nederlands Fotomuseum (Rotterdam), and EYE Filmmuseum (Amsterdam).
